Public Relations / Communications Jr. Specialist
– Part Time Internship
.
.
Are you in school working towards a Public Relations or Communications Degree and you love fashion? If so, you may be the perfect candidate for this position. We are looking for a strategic member of the communications team who will handle media inquiries, communications strategy, and outreach around product and policy issues. Successful candidate will have at least 2 years of school completed, experience in writing and executing proactive and reactive communications plans; executing communications strategies at a national/global level; and building and maintaining relationships with consumer and technology media. Candidates should have excellent creative writing and verbal communications skills, experience with consumer or technology brands, and the ability to think and communicate strategically with a variety of people. High enthusiasm, creativity and resourcefulness are very important, as is a high level of professional integrity and confidentiality. Candidate will serve as Harper Arrington’s spokesperson with the media. This position will work across all of our divisions.

  • Organizational, Tactical, and Communication Skills: Takes accountability for actions; is solutions oriented and understands how to best prioritize tasks or assignments; demonstrates a high level of organizational skills; meets deadlines; sees projects through to completion; great attention to detail; articulates ideas well and is comfortable with public speaking and presentations.
  • Media Relations: Draft pitches; communicates with media; manages press calls; reviews and edits briefing materials; identifies appropriate media targets; builds and maintains media relationships.
  • Content Creation: Excellent writing and editing skills; able to analyze and contextualize information and begin to form strategic recommendations; able to write and edit materials.
  • Crisis Management: Ability to think on one’s feet and communicate effectively both internally and externally, while managing sensitive material and maintaining a high sense of urgency.
  • Generate media and journalist list. Reach out to influential members of the fashion & business communities including social media personalities / Follow-ups etc.
  • Ability to create / update press kits
  • This position will require approximately 10 – 15 hours a week.

  • Proven ability to execute programs that have met and/or exceeded stated metrics and analytics.
