The inspiration for this Fashion Sketch of the Day – Futuristic Costume Fashion Design of a dress focused on shapes and neon glowing lights. It was an extra delight designing this one because of it allowed me to focus on how I believe clothing will look in the future. Clothing will take on a more technological functionality. For this design, I combined Rib Knit Sweater with an overlay of structured polyester to give it shape and volume in the lower half. I also wanted to add what I call the “bad ass” collar that is typical of a female character that has authority and power. I used the Digital Fashion Pro Fashion Design Software System to create this design. Users learn how to create designs such as this one from utilizing the Digital Fashion Pro Fashion Course + Digital Fashion Pro Templates, Models and Fabrics. I love blending digital fabrics and flat color together to create a layered look. The final touch to this design was adding the red trims and glowing neon blue lights. I used a opacity and blur techniques to accomplish this look. For regular fashion designers or costume designers, Digital Fashion Pro is a great tool to explore your creativity.
